Company Voluntary Arrangement Hobby Time

by Alan Davis, 05/02/2013 | Permalink | Email this

A colleague of mine Snowboards for a hobby, she absolutely loves it and eagerly looks forward to the next time she can be subjected to excessive cold, snow-blindness and potential serious injury. I reckon she really goes for the Après-snowboard.

Personally I couldn’t Snowboard or Ski for that matter, when I walk on slippery surfaces my legs become detached from my brain and I develop ‘Bambi-on-ice’ syndrome.

My things are riding out on my scooter and making home brew beer from scratch, we are all different and that is a reason for celebration.

I Googled ‘odd hobbies’ and I could hardly believe what some people get up to, some people are ‘Competitive Dog Groomers’ I sincerely hope they mean combing and trimming them.

One guy collects ‘Navel fluff’ in jars and there is a woman in Sussex who knits breasts, and no, that is not a typing error.

Some people can’t find time for hobbies, some have young families to look after and just crash out at the end of a working day, others have time but don’t have the inclination to be bothered, some consider watching TV as a hobby and some don’t.

You are probably reading this thinking it would be great to have enough time to spend on a hobby, as a company director you hardly ever switch off, worrying constantly about how you are going to fend off HMRC because of the overdue VAT, PAYE or Corporation Tax you owe.

Taxgone thinks you should consider a Company Voluntary Arrangement it will give you time back. Instead of contemplating your navel, fill a jar with the fluff, there is room for another collector.
